Topographic Surveys identify both the man made and natural features of a project site. These features may include buildings, driveways, utilities (both above and below ground), fences, trees, rivers or steep slopes. Elevations are also collected to create a Triangular Irregular Network (TIN Surface) to show the contouring of the land. Topographic surveys are often used by Architects and Engineers as a base map in the design of a site. Having a Topographic Survey allows designers to analyze the layout of a site to maximize it's use for future improvements.
